If you’ve ever walked into a Lush store, you know that the prices are not cheap. Bath bombs can cost anywhere from $6 to $12 each and other cosmetics are similarly priced. So why is Lush so expensive? Is it worth it to pay more for their products? In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the reasons why Lush products are more expensive than those of other brands and whether or not the price is justified.

I have to admit that even though Lush is expensive I love to use their products like these bath bombs and bubble bar that I bought.

From humble beginnings.

Lush Retail Ltd. is a British cosmetics retailer which is headquartered in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1995 by trichologist Mark Constantine, his wife Mo Constantine, and five other founders.

Before Lush was created Mo Constantine invented the bath bomb back in 1989, in her garden shed!

Now Lush has 951 stores globally and is a huge and roaring success and sells millions of bath bombs each and every year.

Why are lush products so expensive?

As I have mentioned Lush is now a huge brand with decades of trading behind them. They have built up an empire in the bathtime industry and are known worldwide.

Because of this, they can charge large amounts for their products and their diehard fans will still buy them. In all honesty, I make my own bath bombs but every now and again I will buy one of Lush’s luxury bath bombs.

To work out why Lush products are so expensive we must see how they make their products.

Natural ingredients.

Lush is well known for its use of natural ingredients in its products. This is one of the main reasons that their prices are high as natural ingredients can be quite costly, especially if they are sourced from ethical suppliers.

Lush also makes a point of using sustainable and ethically sourced ingredients, which can also add to the price. For example, Lush uses Fair Trade cocoa butter in some of its products.

This means that the farmers who grow the cocoa beans are paid a fair price for their work and are not exploited.

Handmade products.

Another reason Lush products are so expensive is that they take time to make.

Lush bath bombs, for example, are handmade and each one is slightly different due to this so. This means that they are more expensive to produce than if they were mass-produced in a factory like some of the other products that you can buy from other manufacturers.

$6-12 for a product that you all literally going to end up pouring down the drain may seem like a lot of money but Lush is much like the Chanel of the bathtime world.

Is Lush worth the money?

So we have already explained that Lush products are expensive but we have also detailed why they cost as much as they do, but more importantly, is it worth the price?

I would say that if you are a fan of Lush products and enjoy using them then yes, they are definitely worth the money.

The price is justified by the quality of the ingredients used, the handmade nature of the products, and the reputation of the brand.

Lush is also a cruelty-free company and does not test its products on animals, which is something that is very important to me.

So if you are looking for a luxury bathtime experience and want to use high-quality products, that cleanse and nourish your skin then Lush is definitely the brand for you. However, if you are looking for cheap and cheerful bath bombs then there are other brands out there that will suit your needs better.

Who should buy Lush products?

I would recommend Lush products to anyone who is looking for a luxury bathtime experience and is willing to pay a bit extra for it.

Lush products are also perfect for gifts as they look great and come in beautiful packaging.

So if you are looking for a special present for someone then Lush is definitely worth considering.

Due to the price of the products, I would not recommend using a bath bomb every time you want to have a bath but they are great for a once in a while treat after a hard day.
