Bath and Body Works is a company that sells candles, among other things. They are known for their high-quality products, but many people wonder why their candles are so expensive. In this article, we will take an in-depth look at the reasons why Bath and Body Works candles are so costly. We will explore the ingredients that go into their candles, as well as the manufacturing process. Finally, we will give our opinion on whether or not the price is worth it.
Why are bath And Body Works candles so expensive?
Although the manufacturing cost of a Bath And Body Works candle is low their candle prices are ridiculously high.
The reason behind this is that they are a well-established company with a huge following built over many years of selling candles. Because of this, they can command top dollar prices for their products. What I am trying to say is that at this time you are paying for the brand rather than the candle, its ingredients or its quality.
However, does any of this mean that their candles are worth the money that they charge for them?
Well as it happens no, Bath And Body Works candles are not worth the money that they cost and there are far better alternatives out there which I will get into later on.
Do Bath And Body Works use expensive ingredients in their candles?
One thing you have to remember is that Bath And Body Works opened its first store over 30 years ago in 1990. At this time Paraffin candles were still all the rage as we didn’t know as much about their effect on our health, homes, or the environment.
Since then many candle manufacturers have adapted and switched over to safer and greener candle waxes and ingredients such as Soy wax and other vegetable waxes. Unfortunately, Bath And Body Works decided not to keep up with the trend of going healthier and green and stick with the cheaper mass-produced Paraffin wax candle and synthetic fragrance oils.
I can only presume that this is due to wanting to keep the profits high whilst the costs are very low.
Having owned my own candle-making company for a number of years I am pretty certain that their candles will cost around $2-3 to produce with a general retail price of around $20+. Surely with that amount of profit per candle, they could afford to use wax and fragrance that is safer for their candle users and the environment?!
Are Bath And Body Works candles worth it?
So are they worth the purchase price for one of their candles? Well, I am pretty sure from the tone of this article what my honest answer will be.
The answer is a resounding no!
Bath And Body Work candles are not worth the money that they charge for them.
They use low-quality ingredients, such as paraffin wax, mass-produce their candles in huge factories, and don’t care about the health of their users or the environment.
There are so many other fantastic candle companies out there that use far superior ingredients, take care of their production process, and sell their candles for a fraction of the price.
So next time you are thinking about buying a Bath And Body Works candle, ask yourself if it is really worth it. I think you will find that the answer is no.
Bath And Body Works candles are bad for your and your pet’s health.
I have covered this deeply in a couple of other articles about why these candles are bad, you can check them out by using the links below if you are interested:
If you don’t have the time to check out these two articles then the basics are that because of the types of wax and also synthetic fragrances that are used in Bath And Body Works candles can release harmful toxins into the air.
These toxins can have an adverse effect on your health, causing respiratory problems, headaches, nausea and even cancer. They can also be extremely harmful to your pets, causing liver and kidney damage as well as potentially leading to cancer.
So not only are Bath And Body Works candles a waste of money but they are also bad for your health and the health of your pets.
There are much better alternatives out there.
As I said at the beginning of this article, there are so many fantastic candle companies out there that use far superior ingredients to Bath And Body Works and sell their candles for a fraction of the price.
